There is a huge financial incentive to play this lad over Kelly. As it stands, Kelly goes for nothing in summer (so is like a loan player, but without a parent club bleating on about playing him).

If this guy delivers, he could be important for Poland at the World Cup, whose one weakness seems to be in defence. They have a group they should get through comfortably (Senegal, Colombia, Japan).

A colleague in Warsaw only said Jach was ``strong'' (well, he also said young and tall, but we know that). Only time will tell if he's anywhere near the requisite level to play for us now...but a good half a season and a good world cup, and our reported £2.64 million outlay could look like an absolute steal.

I was very impressed with the content of his first Palace interview. He managed to compliment the manager, the club, us supporters and he knew about the Brighton rivalry.

It costs very little to do a bit of research and create a very good first impression. If he can play half as well we may have a real gem.
