Chris Kavanagh from Manchester who has this season been breaking into the Premier League big time after impressing in Football League matches.

Unless there is information to the contrary, this will be his first Palace match - at least for the past five or six seasons.

Andre Marriner will be fourth official.

Kavanagh was promote to the 'Select Group' for the start of this season. He impressed me when I saw him refereeing games in the Championship.

A referee outside the 'Select Group' who has impressed me this season has been David Coote - perhaps he will get promoted for next season.

Nice to be able to open the ref thread for the first time and not immediately say "Oh s*** FFS" for a change.

Just hope he is not swayed by the Dean incident this week and decides not to get on the wrong side of Arsene!
He will need to be tough!

Maybe he'll be looking to provoke another reaction from him as PGMOL didn't think his last punishment was sufficient.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Chris Kavanagh was fourth official in the match where Wenger had his bust-up with Dean. He was an onlooker as the Arsenal chief launched his tirade.

I mentioned it in the match thread but this ref was really bad trying to prove something by booking no one even though Xhaka should have had at least one yellow card not to mention the call for a penalty on wilf which was ignored to name but a few more fouls that weren’t even acknowledged

He also didn't give a penalty against us for one of Tomkin's tackles, don't see many people complaining about that.

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.
