From Sky Sports News:

"Newcastle are considering a move for Palace left-back Papa Souare. Rafa Benitez is keen to bring in competition for Paul Dummett, and he is one of a number of players on his left-back list"

I think, if true, this shows how sought after left-backs are, and why we paid so much for PVA and Schlupp.

I don’t particularly rate Soaure but it would be hard to find decent a replacement.

Before Schlupp's injury I'd have said sell, but we need the depth for now.

I love Pape, both for his positivity while injured but also for his effort in games before. He does lack a bit in terms of defensive 'smarts' but he made up for it previously with his athleticism. This is why the injury worried me so much. Will he fully regain the physical ability he had and would he mentally be able to push himself as he used to? It's a big ask.

If a decent offer came in and Pape was interested I'd say we should sell.

We have no real left back cover if he goes now that Schlupp is out. This would not be wise.

Why would anyone sell unless he’s def not the same player?

Out of the three I’d sell pva if all were fit

I think we need to send him on loan only at the moment rather than sell. Yes he needs to play, but if he does recover his form then we can make the decision of who are the best two from three when we get to that point.

As someone has rightly pointed out, Reidewald is left footed and could step in if we lose PVA to injury.

Unfinished business, methinks. But a short loan to a lower league outfit while Palace pays his wages, just to get him match worthy. He did half look wobbly when he came back v Weed.

How would another PL team have better knowledge of his recovery than us? Doesn’t make any sense this.
