It's only the second time this century when we have been in the Premier League that we have not used any of the subs. A little strange given that time-wasting with a one-goal lead is very common

The last time was in November 2004. Not hard to guess who is the one player that made both benches

It's a big old nudge nudge to the board that we dont have the required players right now.

Mentioned this in the "back from the game" thread. We didn't have much quality on the bench to replace tired legs, that's for sure. And almost everyone was playing well (even Benteke, apart from scoring) But I was really surprised Cabaye didn't come on but later I read Roy say he's suffering from muscle fatigue. I still cant understand why he played him vs the Weed. But in Roy we trust.

It depends how the team is coping tactically with the opposition, if doing well why change it just for the sake of it.

Remember Pardew against Man U took off Jimmy Mac and United went straight down the channel where Macca would have been and scored the winner.

I seem to recall this being more of a regular thing when we had Dowie as manager

Two pretty good teams there, a very good back four for Palace

It makes me a little sad to look back at that lineup and then look at Wayne Routledge's career up to and including this season. He was misled and/or stupid to leave when he did, and I wonder how he would have turned out if he'd actually been able to play instead of playing 3 games in 3 seasons at Spurs while he could have been coming into his own. Maybe.
