Tomkins, Fosu-Mensah and McArthur were our best players IMO. McArthur for what he did when the Burnley had the ball and general work rate and contribution. Sako showed great quality with touch and crossing when he had time but made some really poor decisons when we needed him to take the pressure off second half. Unusually for a Palace side we looked most vulnerable when Burnley started pumping the ball route one last ten minutes but Hennnessey was excellent in this period making a great one on one block save from Barnes (I think) and making a couple of big claims. Wilf played right side of a four man midfield second half when Burnley pressed us and although not as effective did a great job for the team. Can't keep being so wasteful in front of goal but we're a better team with Benteke IMO who's massively important defending set pieces. Martin Kelly also excellent. Looks to be another to have re-built his confidence with Roy no doubt helped by Tomkins.

Talk about a game of 2 halves - dominated the first for clear cut chances but soaked up plenty of pressure in the second. Hats off to Hennessey - he played a blinder. Kelly is a revelation as a centre back - his preferred position...who knew? Went up further in my estimation after the game when he was posing with fans for photos with a smile on his face. And Tomkins? He was solid and fast becoming our defensive rock. TFM was very good for the most part as was PvA. The latter's play was almost flawless until late on in the game when he made one of his customary howlers. Luka and Jimmy worked hard on and off the ball but we lacked a bit of guile in the middle of the pitch without Cabaye. I liked Riederwald's contribution - turned in a good stint. Looks like he may become a useful squad member after all. Upfront Wilf had one of his quieter games - still played well IMO. As did Benteke though he couldn't score in a brothel at the moment. Should have hit the back of the net twice maybe three times. At least it was his flick that led to the goal and some of his build up play was impressive. Not so his pathetic dive in the opening 10. MoM was Sako - obviously. Could have scored or created more with a bit of composure. Worth pointing out there were no subs. Saw them warm up - including Cabaye

Took my son to his first proper game today. Was hoping Wilf would tear it up but he never really got going. Hennessey did what was expected of him, he's looked more assured for a while now. Defence largely did their bit. I think it was Kelly who did an amazing tackle that brought an attack right up their end. I do like TFM and PVA and not sure why they've not been picked more readily. Paddy's very willing, Fosu Mensah will one day drop a catastrophic error but I like the cut of his jib. He's ambitious in how he plays. Jimmy Mac: industrious and busy. Riedewald I think missed an absolute sitter. Sako, again, potent, energetic. Even if he is playing for a contract, for the run-in I'd prefer him to a £10m knee jerk signing. I wouls love to know what the justification was to not give a penalty for the foul on him. Looked blatant to me. Benteke interlinked quite well but he has no expectation to score. Sako envisages himself scoring, and lo and behold, lots of his efforts are going in. Roy's decades of experience are needed to get this guy back but I have a feeling he's seen enough to know we need a replacememnt. We had the better chances but really pleased with 1:0. Can't remember the last time we beat burnley.

Not a huge amount to add. Glad to see that a couple have mentioned Kelly, him and Tomkins withstood a real aerial battering in the 2nd half. TF-M looks increasingly assured at right back and PVA did OK too. Benteke did a lot of very good things, just needs to score a goal now. Sako was a handful in the first half in particular and caused all sorts of problems. McArthur did what he does, covered a huge amount of ground. Luka not quite at his best with a few misplaced passes. Hennessey had a decent game, one very good block one on one and some confident catches.

I enjoyed the game. Should just add that Selhurst was rocking in the first half (when Palace were attaching the Holmesdale!). Second half was slightly more subdued..but still buzzing! I wonder if Burnley won the toss and tactically made sure we did not play with the Holmesdale the second half? Food for thought!
