If this is true it makes SP and the club look ridiculous:

I seriously hope Parish and others have finally learned their lessons and we won’t have yet another farce of a transfer window.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

This sounds similar to other deals, esp the saga with benteke & sako. I am not surprised tbh.

Are we the only club to deal like this? Probably not... but does it help matters? Nope.

This was once a quality forum....

Probably true.
Transfers in football are not like normal business and brinksmanship rarely works.
Why try and offer them peanuts when they obviously want serious offers - it is not like we are poor is it!
Very frustrating but it will continue to happen.
Sometimes you have to pay up whether you like it or not!

Just love the way people on here throw around other people's money. Best way to deplete resources is to pay over the odds for recruits. The clubs that have strengthened their position in the prem have bought wisely. Clubs that panic buy may or may not achieve short term survival but eventually it catches up with them and they go down.

Brinkmanship clearly does work. Just consider all the business that the majority of clubs do on the last day of the transfer window. Why does everyone assume it is us? Selling clubs, agents and players will all hold out for the best deal (occasionally it is not money but the hope that a Champions League club will come looking).

Fair enough but it's no good playing out thi strategy with priority positions where we have zero cover. That's not smart but negligent.

A lot of what you say is true of course and naturally we are not the only Club - I know that.
Binksmanship doesn't seem to work for CPFC - my opinion.
I accept that we might offer money and the selling club/player pontificates about the deal so it drags on but what we ought to do is offer the best we are prepared to pay - give them a period of time after which just walk away.
At least we will get a reputation for consistency.
The Tosun facts may not be correct but if they are then CPFC were at fault for playing silly B*****s in the first place

Nah, we never haggle pointlessly, prolonging our transfers before we just pay the asking price anyway

I would like to know Mr.Caliskan's reasons for making comments about private negotiations. It is interesting to note that CPFC did not make much,if any, attempt to resurrect an offer in this window.

That made me chuckle and no mistake. Other people’s money but it’s our club isn’t it, and I would sure like to see it be run correctly. There have been way too many balls ups lately, time for Parish and co to start to repair the damage of an abysmal transfer strategy of late.

Hardly any clubs in the Premier are run correctly, all operating in debt regardless of the TV money. Most are paying 85-90% of their income on players wages and agents fees, it is not a normal business model. So I can understand clubs wanting to cut the best deal with the exception of clubs owned by foreign billionaires.
