I have just had a lovely piece of rabbit for dinner tonight.

Is anyone else a fan? It is an acquired taste but when done well is fantastic.

Rabbit stew was a regular meal when I was a child - cheap and nourishing. To me it has always tasted like chicken with attitude.......

Too rubbery for me.
Besides after having my daughters pet rabbits around, I couldn't eat them now.
I even find it a bit cringeworthy when I see the peeled ones in French stores. Mind you, I feel sorry for the shackled Langoustine.

Not bad in a stew, but if you're feeling Game you can't really look beyond Duck.

Stayed in Carcassone's old city for a short break pre-Xmas and had different forms of duck on all 3 days......confit, roasted with garlic & rosemary, baked in a cassoulet.....Nom.

I thought Chas ‘n’ Dave did less irritating songs.

I had an excellent recipe for a rabbit casserole with cream and mustard. I've lost the book now. Yes, rabbit's not at all bad, gamier than chicken but not overpowering. It shouldn't be rubbery (if it is, you've probably got next door's bunny in your pot).

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I had rabbit stew last week in a restaurant.

Had to send it back. There was a hare in it.
