According to Soccerex, Palace is 55th on the list of the most valuable football clubs in the world. However, MLS clubs are rated individually yet MLS is single source ownership. How does that work?

Lazio, Inter Milan and Bourenmouth.

Sportex look at it differently than Forbes(?) do as they include the potential investment capacity of owners as well. Which explains why so many Chinese and American teams are above us.

The methodology is constructed on five variables that go towards making up the final calculation
of each team:
A) Playing Assets
B) Fixed Assets (i.e. team’s stadiums, training centres and other properties)
C) Cash in the bank
D) Owner Potential Investment*
E) Net Debt

not sure i buy into this, although i am firmly quickly skimming it.

the Fixed assets results do not make sense to me. Are UK stadiums etc really worth so little compared to US ones (no they are not). Do Chelsea have the same fixed assets as Orlando city (and most other MLS sides) and 10 times that of Palace, everton etc?

Happy happy JOY, JOY!

Not to mention who actually owns the facilities. For example, NYCFC doesn't own Yankee Stadium, the New York Yankees do. However, the Yankees are part "owners" of NYCFC.

Any list that puts Guangzhou above Real Madrid has to be questioned

I seem to recall that Spanish Clubs presidents are voted in by the fanbase. therefore they have to make big claims of what players they will buy and so They actually run with massive debts. In China there are a lot of very wealthy owners. They do pay massive inflated prices for foreign players but the number they can sign is heavily limited (I think in the Chinese league only 4 players in a matchday squad can be foreign). It means the Owners have massive wealth reserves they cannot spend.
