Heard that Roy said in pre-match conference that he wasn't thinking of buying a CB in January but may have to re-evaluate after Dann's injury and Sakho's injury.

Where the hell is Sakho? What is the latest? Surely if he can be back for mid-late January it will be massive if we have him and a striker. Should see us well safe.

Where have you been the last few months? He's out until around march.

This is what I was asking...

Was at the game he got injured and haven't seen a report since. Just heard shortly after the match that it might be months, not weeks, which doesn't sound as bad as "definitely out until March" which I hadn't heard until now.

Fair point. I was also of the view that he would be back around Burnley game but now he has slipped in to "no return date" mystery.

We have 8 winnable games to finish the season (I optimistacally include the bin dippers in that). Perhaps a fully match fit sakho (and - fingers crossed - wickham) coming back for those games will make it feel like a mini-window.

It was guessed at about 3 months and all because he was pissing about with the ball...

Hey, cheer up! With the way Tompkins and (waste of space, as I thought) Kelly are playing as CBs we are not as bad as we might think. 3 points against the Scummers and the nous of Mr Roy!

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

Its fair to say with 60 million spent on Benteke and Sakho we've been very unlucky on both fronts, with Benteke's shocking loss of form and Sakho's injuries.

Roy is getting the best out of squad players that many had written off so am not worried.

Worth noting that we've run out of backups of the required standard at right back and centre half - down to the bare bones all right.

Surely a solid defender who can play in the middle or on the right is the top priority, even ahead of a striker?

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)
