Am I missing something? Schlupp gave the ball away for the first 2 goals and has been generally hopeless all game! PVA not really featured under Hodgson but why? Is he any worse? I imagine he’s not playing tonight so he doesn’t get injured before the window opens but if Schlupp is the answer long term I don’t like the question!

OK, Bristol City away, but what about Schlupp? Please rest him New Year's Eve and give PVA a chance to redeem himself...

I agree, and I would also like to see Fosu Mensah play rather then Kelly. Originally posted by thai-eagle

PVA is a better all round player Schlupp 'switches off' has poor positional sense and is deadly slow.

No: Schlupp's problem is mostly that he makes poor decisions. As a youngish player (25) I would hope that will change under good coaching. I accept this is debatable. However, I feel the die is cast regarding PvA who is 27 and only looks good when attacking, but not good enough to replace a genuine forward/winger. I've seen him bottle out of tackles and make various horrific mistakes - Roy has seen summat he doesn't like. Clearly

From what I have seen, Schlupp has been quite good recently. Perhaps it's just me though.

Neither PVA nor Schlupp are slow. in fact, they;re 2 of the best left backs a PL team could have. We're solid in that area, other places need strenghtening. Sure, every defender will have bad games every now and then. It comes with the job and because they're defenders, it it seen much more easier than RLC not doing his defensive duties (just an example). But overall, if we speak of whole seasons, PVA and Schlupp are good to have Edited by mattteo (29 Dec 2017 6.27pm)
