I haven't heard 1 pundit yet even slightly suggest that Spurs penalty today was a dive. Can anyone tell me the difference between that penalty and ours against Bournemouth where Zaha in some quarters was being threatend with a ban for diving, I find the media so inconsistent. It wouldn't bother me what they think except for it definitely colours referees views on certain players.

Was it the media complaining about Zaha's tumble or was it the Bournemouth manager as if the latter then the media are bound to pick up on it

Another way of getting penalties has been creeping in the game - defending player puts his leg out towards the ball but doesn't touch it with the attacking player going over the players' foot. The referee has to decide did the defending player trip the player or did the attacking player just fall over the player? There is such a small time difference between the two it can be almost impossible to tell even after numerous replays of the incident. Once the defending player has stretched his leg out to get the ball it is impossible for him to pull his leg back to stop himself from impeding any player near him, so the leg is there for a player to just fall over making sure there in contact between the two legs so it isn't an obvious dive but the attacking player knows even these are given as pens.
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |
