The reason I ask this is I had good reason to wear a Tottenham shirt recently. It was a funeral and the deceased had been a good friend and a Spurs fan (if that's possible). Strangely, I felt honoured, not with Spurs but for my dead mate. I just cannot think of another time I could wear a different shirt.

I've worn a Cardiff polo shirt on more than one occasion due to my ex giving me one to wear when asking for a t-shirt to put on.

Also an AFC Wimbledon one when myself and some friends sponsored one of their matches, my friends are huge Don fans.

If it's a club from another country it's ok. I went to Barcelona for the first time in the 90s - went to camp nou and couldn't help myself. Same colours as Palace...and without any awful sponsorship. I also bought a Vitoria shirt in Salvador, Brazil for the same reason. What can I say? I was young and foolish.

When I was leaving the ground a few years ago, I overheard one of our supporters say that he resided in Nerja, Spain and followed Malaga and when he went to their games he wore a Malaga shirt and my immediate reaction was that it resembled a Brighton shirt !!!!

On another tack, I heard that chap said that his Dad told him to ensure when he died he was cremated in his prized Chelsea shirt and his reaction of his son was akin to "Bloody good, I always wanted to burn a Chelsea shirt"
