Can’t believe how many ppl on Twitter panicking about who will take a penalty if we get one v Leicester with Luka being suspended , I think unless I’m wrong but didn’t Cabaye used to take our penalties once over ? he’d be the first choice for me

Not sure we will have to many forays into the Leicester box !

Sako is a possibility as he has a hammer of a left-foot and has scored penalties for Wolves.None of this languid walk up and feeble shot at the end of it !

Just seen this :

"When Wolves lost Bakary Sako, the menace from dead ball situations disappeared from Molineux"

Surely a player will not be criticised provided:

a) the shot is on target
b) the shot is not straight down the middle and
c) he properly boots it.

Tekers is OK on a), poor on b), and f***ing s***e on c).
Cabaye's last effort failed b).
Puncheon's last effort failed a).
Milivojevic does a), b) and c) perfectly and doesn't f*** about trying to do anything else.

Do all three and if it's not a goal it's because the keeper saved it, not because you fluffed it.

Making eyes at keepers, body feints, silly buggers in the run up and all sorts of other fancy tricks will not compensate if these basics aren't there. The keeper could just stand and laugh at you and it'll still be no goal.

Now that you mention it I also have a feeling that these points would resonate with McArthur too.

Le Tissier only missed 1 penalty in his career - shot saved by Mark Crossley.I think he scored 48 out of 49 which is quite remarkable.
I believe he said that he always went for the same corner but sometimes changed his mind at the last moment if the goalkeeper went that way.

Shearer hardly missed a penalty and I believe he said he makes up his mind where he will place the ball and does not change it whatever the goalkeeper does.

Well if you whack it hard enough and just inside the post to either side the keeper can guess right every time and still not stop it going in.

If OTOH you tap it feebly down the middle...

Unless, of course, it would be Scott "Chocolate Feet" Dann!
