If (don’t know if they do or not) the club want our atmosphere to be talked about outside of SE25 they need to move the away fans back next to the holmesdale. Away fans singing “ where’s your famous atmosphere” as they are right up the other end. The Holmesdale would be 20% louder if the away fans came back. I know they were moved when we were skint , £100 grand policing costs per year apparently. We aren’t skint anymore, fine Benteke a months wages for lasts weeks backpass and that’s 5 years old bill. The commentators always say about our crowd, they’d be right in the middle of it it the press box.
If it’s a boring game , there’s always a fat away fan to take the p*ss out of , games like last night would be on a different level, getting it for 85 minutes , then that happened.
There’s minimal trouble in the premier league as it’s so watered down. We are one of the only clubs left with a proper ground. Come on Steve you know it makes sense , you can enjoy it from the new ‘everest Windows’ stand.

So move the Away fans back so the Holmesdale makes more noise?

As far as I could hear last night, BlockB was (as usual) making the majority of the noise throughout the match. Moving the Away fans back would distract us from supporting the team, instead it would all be about the pantomime fatty in Row3.

The atmosphere was crap last night, but it wasn't the HF to blame, or those around /behind them, it was mainly due to the dross being served up on the pitch. How about the rest of the ground pick up the baton and make some noise or (God forbid) start their own song instead of relying on the usual 'suspects'.

If you're worried about Away fans signing about our atmosphere, how about those lot nearest make some noise en masse. I see a handful of people occasionally stand up and give it back to them, people should be following their lead.

We actually had a couple of songs come from the back of the Hol last night which was great, we just need more of it from the rest of the ground. I am admittedly bit of a 'noise nazi' though, and get pissed off at the 'BlockB tourists' standing there just to absorb the atmosphere and give nothing back. If it were up to me I'd install decibel meters at the entrance gate to check you're loud enough to enter the hallowed ground. Luckily for you quiet SOBs I'm not in charge. Yet.

Another problem with them being moved back is that they would be all the teams can see as they walk out, not great for the Home side.

I suspect the away fans would drown out the HF. And I think there would be minor bits of trouble quite frequently inside the ground. Missile throwing, fans trying to confront each other etc.

I also think tensions leaving the ground would be much more heightened. HF gobbing off to West Ham all game. West Ham are gonna get fired up.

Having sat in both the Holmesdale and the White Horse, I can confirm the away fans are almost always multiple times louder than the HF. It's an assumption that the rest of the Holmesdale would step up to improve the atmosphere. I don't think they would...not week in, week out.

and it's not the policing cost the club probably cares about...it's the reputational cost.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Trouble is fans throw bottles and other stuff, I guess that's the reason.

So a bank of away supporters behind the lino is OK?
Sorry, but wherever your bank of support is has no relevance in my opinion. Giving them the loudest part of the ground, behind the lino does.
As for numbers, let's just hide behind health and safety like Brighton are doing.
