I do trust Roy. Bringing in an older goalkeeper will provide short term competition for Julian and Wayne, and make it clear that the goalkeeping position is available for a younger player. It would be a backwards step to bring in Joe Hart at thirty, which would say to our developing players that they have little hope of first team football for the next six years. The message will be reinforced by having one of the three on the pitch, another on the bench, and a youth player also on the bench - ready to come on for the last fifteen minutes.
