Reportedly available in January with Southampton and West Ham interested. We'd be mad not to go in for him. Up top on his own (his favourite position where he rarely gets to play) he'd terrorise defences. Up top with Benteke if we decide Benteke still has something left in the tank. Cover for a Wilf/Townsend injury. This is at least 2 positions covered in 1, if not more for me. He is nothing more than pace and finishing but he is very very good at it and that is what we need the most at the moment. I think back to some of the Benteke chances, the one against Everton where Wilf bullied a defender and put Tekker's through, I can just imagine Walcott being on the penalty spot before the defender knows what's happened and slotting it away. He may not be effective in helping us beat bigger teams. He may have a very low work-rate for the overall teams. But I think in the games against West Ham, Everton, Brighton, West Brom he'd turn 1 point into 3 and imagine where we'd be sitting if that was the case.

Really good shout. I do wonder if he will go for a bigger team though, rather than one that is in a relegation battle. Would be an amazing addition for us...

Much will depend upon Prem table position by the time Jan transfer window opens. Whilst the likes of Walcott would be guaranteed regular match play, would he want to sign up to a team vying for relegation?

Not too sure if we could really get him but definitely a 'Palace type'

Why on Earth would Walcott come to Palace? He's a very famous and gifted player, not our level

well arsenal don't want him, the other big clubs probably wont either as hes never had enough end product. which means unless everton, stoke, Southampton don't want him, we're the next level no? and then on top of that, we tend to offer high wages. Plus we're London, he may want to stay in the city. TBF Id say we do have a good chance of signing him yes. But is a winger someone we badly need? yes we do need competition of Zaha and Andros on the wing, but I think all of our January funds should be spent on two strikers and a GK.

a little to injury prone for my liking. It would be typical that he signs and is laid off till june

He'd have to battle it out for a spot with Andros, or play up front with tekkers. either way we need a better squad and if that means Andros and him fight it out and that pushes out the likes of Bakary and puncheon, then im all for it. Edited by matthau (05 Dec 2017 5.57pm)

why would ac milan, roma or atletico madrid not want him? surely he's out of Palace's level. Don;t get me wrong, I'd surely want Walcott in my team, as I think he is a great player and the treatment he gets from fans and manager alike in Arsenal is bewildering for a guy who scored and assisted much more than that weakling Ozil. He should have been out of there 2 years ago, when Wenger first ignored him in order to play the likes of Iwobi, though he was the best in the squad. He didn't even leave in the summer, which is beyond bewildering!! Now it's late for him, but he will still go to a good team. He'll prove everyone who he is or he'll end up like Lennon (one of the 2)

Southampton and Everton yes. Surprised you rank Stoke above us? Anyway, suspect he will go back to Saints... if they want him back. Otherwise, unless West Ham have a meteoric renaissance over the next few weeks and assuming we maintain current form, we have a slim chance if we offer the money. Would be one heck of a window if we also get Trapp.
