20th place in the Championship and in danger of slipping into the relegation area and unable even to buy a point I think it's safe to say that most people were also speculating the same

This is the sort of worrying slide in performance that can happen to relegated premier teams when all of a sudden they have to play in the Championship which is a very tough league. You only have to look at the sides that have gone down two leagues in 2 or 3 seasons to know this can happen.

If and we all hope this will not happen, we get relegated then let's hope that we go down with a plan in mind for stability, rebuild and a quick return to the top flight. Dougie will be quite important in that regard, both in his knowledge of that league and in his ability to recruit the right manpower. Let's save this conversation for another day however as the last few weeks have given everyone a bit of confidence that we can pull off the great escape once more.

Agreed Pierre, but forewarned is forearmed and I'm not bothered if someone is doing a bit of preemptive work in the background, as long as he keeps his negativity to himself ;-)

Hull were in financial dire straits when they came up, so it's not surprising that they had to sell a bunch of players when they went down. CPFC are in excellent financial health so, with parachute payments, should be able to hold on to much of the squad and certainly those players they want to keep who are without relegation clauses in their contracts.

The American investment adds a lot of stability, as it pays for the stadium development.

Someone and I were just thinking that his time at Hull could be limited that's all.In fact he said to me on Saturday, that it was 'Curtains' for Slutsky after another defeat (At Sheff Wed). I reminded him that Hull had actually drawn 2-2 to which he replied that it must have been a very late goal - I checked and Dawson scored in the 90th minute ! So yes, he and I had communication regards Slutsky !!!!
