We are right there with Swansea and West Ham and even Moyes’ Hammers have a worse goal difference than us after yesterday. As long as we can be in the mix in January, it should pique the interest of the Yanks and Parish to splash some serious cash in the window. Will Parish actually get some deals over the line early doors for once? He would have to be pretty dense to wait until the end of January hoping to save a few million like he normally does. Looking at the table today, and looking at our recent performances, I don’t suppose the doom merchants (like me) are still sitting on their high horses? We have every chance to get out of this, as long as Parish, the Yanks, and Dougie Freedman (that still sounds strange) make the right signings, at the right time.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Now we have caught up with the other two in relegation zone, it's time for next step - mix with the ones 10 - 17 in the table. We'll be all right....

Totally agree. If we are still in touching distance when the window opens they have to go big. Please no messing around this time. Get the deals done early

You seem optimistic that there will be a number of purchases in January, I wouldn’t be so sure.
Unless we can move on some of the deadwood like Lee and Mutch, I just can’t see another spending spree like last January, it’s not sustainable.

Lee wont be fit enough to sell until the summer.

Good news re closing gap. I never doubted [although I spent 2 months kicking the cat].

Agreed minimal signings in January.
The magic 6 points separates us and 12th.
As Sam used to say respect the point.
Roy’s doing fine,if only Frank had done the same.

Frank wasn’t given a chance, and was the wrong appointment by Parish in the first place, so he got royally screwed.....twice. From what SP said after the last window he knows he made several mistakes. Roy has been vocal about certain positions, so if we don’t spend 25 mil on a keeper and striker I would be amazed. Add in a half decent full back or another winger and he would have splashed some cash there.

24 games to go and we need at least 10 wins.

We have 3 right backs and 3 left backs, why do you think we need more?

w.hams next 3 games are great. Can see there GD getting royally mullered.
city / chels & arse!
Swansea / stoke & wba are all in a mix up playing each other next few games so sombodys got to lose out.
as others have mentioned hopefully a greatly improved position by Christmas will warrant a few bob spent.

I think we need to move Kelly, Mutch and Sako on. We have enough cover at the back now, especially with TFM seemingly able to play across the back line. Mutch needs no explanation and Sako seems to need a regular run to keep his fitness up and never seems to offer anything as a sub.

If we can move those three on (which seems unlikely) then that could free us up to bring in back up to Wilf/Andros and a striker and then maybe we could look to get a GK on loan from abroad with the option to buy in the summer if it works out.

As it stands I think we just need Bentenke to find form and we'll start turning draws into wins. Cabaye is playing the best he ever has for us and Wilf and Andros continue to play well, plus the Tomkins/Sakho pairing looks solid(ish). Roy really has done a great job so far. He looks less one-dimensional in his approach than perhaps we saw under Pulis, Pardew and Allardyce, plus he is intelligent, articulate and pragmatic.

If we get out of the bottom three then I think the confidence will rise and we will pull clear. Of course we have to do that first!

You won’t get your Shopping List in January.
Hopefully Dougie finds us a Chris Armstrong type of striker.
That will do.
