I have been on here for no time at all compared to the seasoned pros.
I have noticed that ( including me) it is the one thing we are set in our ways on.
We are either left or right
( terminology only)
Other things or situations we all have opinions on which bounce around and surprise.
Politics no way.
Just observing that's all.
Wondered why that is the case compared to their subjects.

There is no line you can draw between general and politics/news is there they cross over all the time.

I suppose politics comes in many forms Inc
All of our parish Hennessy club ones as well.
It's not that type I mean
It's the party politics of the country.
Makes me wonder if we copy our piers from an early age and convince ourselves it is THE WAY.
It proves it is very hard to change a thought process even if deep down you know you're barking up the wrong tree.

For someone like you maybe. The guidelines are pretty clear.

If I take a general subject for example the NHS, is that general or political.

It's obviously political.

The NHS is a health service that is not political.

If I want to make a point about the NHS failing in some way it is not political it is a comment upon that organisation so its general.

It is funded through taxation from the people by the government and is therefore political as well.

It is a good idea if, as someone supposedly responsible, you do not talk down or belittle a poster.

OK, to confirm. Any topic on the NHS should be in this 'News & Politics' forum only. Let me know if you think there are any grey areas and I'd be happy to clarify.

There is a lot of criticism on brexit, quite well founded IMO, that large areas of it were not thought through or even considered in the first place.

Compare the meticulous planning in the invasion of Normandy in June 1944, proof that we can do things when we are aroused, to the present.

It is a farce let's face it.

Pull the plug on it and back to the EU with a desire to make things happen, not just to stand on the side whinging, it has made a difference to them and they miss us, the single market was a tory PM's vision remember.
