Five UK cities have been told to shut the door on this idea after much time, money and no doubt tons of effort.
Seems to be directly linked to the brexit vote.
I fear this is only the beginning!!!!!!
I voted remain by the way and not because of anything but being ok with my lot.
My choice my vote. I don't like change when I can't foresee any of the outcome.

You should consider changing the threads title to 'my opinion on brexit'. Or just add your comment to an already existing brexit thread.

Seeing as Liverpool is the only English city to have been awarded the European City of Culture in the 30 odd years it has been running I would worry that much.

I thought hull had it recently.
Anyhow tom it's more that the people involved will be devestated and rightly so.
It's a shame and not fair as we are still in Europe after all.
It's the reason behind the decision I highlighted.

It's a shame no one read the rules about non EU countries entering, would have saved loads of time and money. People still blaming the EU for it though.

No Hull is UK city of culture.

Who would have thought it, no wonder cities chase these awards as it transforms people's ideas of them.

Even taking part in the race others are seeing you in a whole new light.
