Real influence comes from two directions.... the barrel of a gun or the wealth of a nation. I couldn't give a monkey's uncle about the world court. Lawyers are self interested arseh0les regardless of nationality.

First point is a half truth, which applies to the whole west....it also ignores realities like the Falklands, which was a conflict fought against USA wishes. The second point is a bit of a nonsense. At worse our economy could contract by 4 percent with a no deal with the EU. Even if that happened we would quickly recover via several political choices if we choose them. We will remain a military force....unless people like Corbyn get in and we will remain a trading power pretty much regardless....I doubt that even Corbyn could screw that up. The Tories have screwed up on managing Britain's position in the world for all their bluster.

And actually we need both balls in both camps...with the bigger one in Washington. That is purely sensible and how it should be. The US is a majority Anglo Saxon culture with major historical connections with us and we are European.....So both ball locations are entirely appropriate. The one area I'd agree on is that most politicians are useless....Tories or whoever.....But the decline of this country and the west's influence has been inevitable ever since the rise of globalization.

I want to make sure the Islanders are looked after on parity with British mining and Steed industry communities. As for "worse our economy could contract by 4 percent with a no deal with the EU," I just see "Brexit bus £350million lie" and you keep on peddling them

They were very against the war and it was a conflict against their wishes.....So your point about us not being able to act without US agreement is a half truth....and it always has been in modern times. Essentially only time will show who is accurate here. Edited by Stirlingsays (26 Nov 2017 12.57am)

Liberals care about Britain’s position in the world while the Right care about Britain’s position in the USA’s pocket. Liberal’s are prepared the play a power game between the USA and Europe. The Right just go with the USA. Bad politics unless you think Britain is the 51st state as the right seem to. Which is weird for nationalists (traitors). The Sues Crisis showed us where the USA think we are and the right accepted it and sucked up to the USA rather than thinking of counter strategy through the EU. The Right are the real the weak-kneed traitors Edited by Bert the Head (26 Nov 2017 1.10am)

At least with this we have both portrayed our worldviews on these matters for anyone bored enough to notice.
