Mightily relieved after today but... Which other Premiership team would have allowed : - Ayew to run from the half way line before his goal We have just got to be a bit more unpleasant when defending with players taking yellow cards for the team.

Last week when Blondie took out Cheek and not a reaction. Just a bit of a scouse moan from Dann on the edge of the box from 6 yards away before the free kick.

Well Tompkins came to that realization. Definitely wanted every ball there was to be won, that's for sure. Dann is just there, doesn't make his presence felt. Big difference.

I don't think Sakho and Milivojevic f*** about all that much either. It's true though that Dann sometimes looks more as if he should be opening the batting for Kent. Edited by chateauferret (25 Nov 2017 7.07pm)

Considering that every team steams into Wilfried without so much as a frown from referees. You would wonder that we should put it about a little more.

We really are far too polite. Surely anyone can see our players need to be surrounding and cajoling any opponent who hacks down Wilf? I've never seen a bunch of footballers so slow to protect one another on the field. Wilf is a special talent and our main hope of winning games, so allowing opposing players to foul him repeatedly without actively drawing the ref's attention to it is counter-productive to say the least. We urgently need to develop a nasty streak to hold our own against some of the hackers we face week in and week out.

When he is clatttered at the beginning of a game (which he frequently is), he should stay down and the rest of the team should surround the offending player and tell him in no uncertain terms that should he do it again then he will be f**king dealt with.

It was Warnock who said Palace are southern softies. That's my take on the close season and the start anyway, I think the back-bone stiffens from January on. Liverpool wait all summer for that first game to murder Palace or West Ham. I can tell when next season is going to be relegation usually is apparent very soon connected with players leaving. This one, despite the bad start, there are still good players. If your club sells players like Jedinak and Murray for a pittance it makes you wonder.

Definately should have brought Shaqiri down. As said Luka and Sakho can put it about. Cabaye also manages to get at least one late challenge per game. Usually gets the player on the ankle or top of the foot.
