If you put flared wheel arches, alloy wheels, a spoiler, snazzy paint job and go faster stripes on Wayne Andrews, you'd have Frazier Campbell.

Bakary Sako now does this job and not really any better.

However Campbell was useful when you were defending a 1-0 lead with five minutes left. He would get back, get stuck in and do whatever was required. The day that Grujic kicked the s*** out of Tomkins after we'd used our third sub says it all.

An odd truth about Campbell, is I think he should really have been a midfielder. Somehow, someone, somewhere, put him down as a striker, and even more bizarrely he spent his entire career until recently at top flight clubs.

Say what you like about Campbell, he certainly has the right agent.

He used to score goals though. Good scoring record when on loan to Royal Antwerp and Hull.

I think that was some 10 years ago !
Since leaving Hull his scoring record hasn't been that impressive but he has had some awful injuries.
Has been known as a willing runner who closes defenders down so one cannot fault his application.

Oh no I realise this. I was just pointing out how he ended up being deployed as a striker.
