This would really upset me as he did so well for us. Leaves to say he is retiring and then ends up at Everton. This supports my theory that SP is out of control and can't keep a manager and does not bode well for the future!!

Everton players seem to want Unsworth so at a guess I'd say if Sam was manager for their next game then you likely wouldn't see any kind of bounce possibly the opposite in the short term which could therefore benefit us.

Although I'm sure he'll sort them out in the long run. But possibly we'd be playing them at the best possible time.

I think anyone half-decent should keep Everton up, so at least Sam isn't going to keep up a genuine relegation rival.

Yep, £100k more than per league place. How many are we lower than we should be or will end up?

Sam may have felt we were going to be the last club for him but as the time has gone on he has 'felt the bug' to be back in football again especially when the season started.

Everton is a big challenge for the new manager as the fans will be not just expecting to get away from any relegation problems but a top seven finish after the 2017/18 season is over.

Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in?

i feel the same and something is def wrong at our club look at league position and how managers keep going it has to be SP no one else has been around for all these problems.

Roy is even having a bit of a go about no strikers now.

I wonder if sam gets the job if SP will go after him claiming he lied to get out of his contract.

Everton has a lot of quality and structure i can see sam being a very good fit but i think they are like a lot of clubs now big headed expecting to always be right at the top when really they should be happy with top 10 finish.

I'm surprised Moyes hasn't made a return, I thought they loved him and he was free until he signed for wet spam.. Still, I don't see him as the guy to turn it around at any club, so maybe he can take wet spam down for us.

Everton should be OK. If Sam does go there I'd be a tad disappointed but there is no way he can stay away from football and I begrudgingly say, good luck to him and thanks. He's no Pulis.

I doubt whether he would get away with it as all he has to say is that he changed his mind as retirement didn't suit him

Not sure how that would sit legally though.
Could be seen as a planned effort all along.
Not the Everton bit just an escape with some bunce.
SP will get some dough back for sure.
It's his god.

If it was a planned effort all along I don't think that SP would want it dragged through the courts as whilst he would win his £2m back again he wouldn't want Sam's reasons for wanting to escape made public as his other great love is his perceived public image as a saviour

Note that I did say if.

Far more likely that if he does take the job he will insist that Everton pay a £2m signing on fee directly to ourselves in compensation
