Maybe this helps explain his utterly dreadful performance 3 days later in Bristol?

PVA comes unstuck. I like that.

It's all a bit 'tacky', isn't it?

Shisha is essentially flavoured water vapour (can have tobacco in it or not - up to you), so nothing to see here.

Just shows how much he really cares about the privileged position he currently has as a Premiership footballer.
Also how much influence (as a role model to younger players and supporters) actions like this have a detrimental and adverse effect.
My level of tolerance is coming unstuck with PVA!

Why are footballers in tabloid stories referred to as Premier League (or football) 'ace'?

Its not water vapour at all. The smoke is from fruit flavoured tobacco which is passed through water to remove some of the harshness.
Arguably its just as harmful as smoking cigarettes.

Good point, Nick. It does seem to come from an earlier era, like 'Battle of Britain ace' or something like that.

'Ace' is also a very short word and replaces something like 'player' or even 'star' which is useful in newspapers where space is at a premium.

That's why 'displeasure' or 'anger' is so often to be seen as 'fury' - shorter. It doesn't seem to matter if the word isn't really the right one just so long as it fits the column space.

So, if it suits the space criteria of the rag in question, we have to accept that PVA is not really an bang average championship quality player but is, indeed, an 'ace' - whether we like it or not.

Saw a news report a while ago that claimed that smoking a shish for 1 hour was the equivalent of a one weeks heavy smoking of cigarettes. Apparently the water does not filter the harmful ingredients.

You have to wonder what an athlete is doing harming his body.

I started reading the article but then noticed another article about Jesy Nelson from Little Mix wearing lingerie.

I'll catch up later.
