It's a resounding yes from me. I can't remember anyone who performs as he does under pressure. What. A. Legend.

He must be equal to wrighty the only players who have constantly performed for over 2/3 seasons, a legend
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

also if we do the unthinkable and get relegated, don't sell him, loan him for a year till/if we return

Not for me. Only started showing he's good enough for a bigger team last season in my opinion. Always had potential but never really stepped up like he should have. Class nlw tho and I hope he continuous. Our best player right now tho by a mile and I'll miss him when he leaves in the summer. Edited by miles18 (28 Oct 2017 6.54pm)

I genuinely hope (and think there's a realistic possibility) that he'd stay. If we keep him on 100k a week, and IF we go down, he's settled here and we'd be back in 1 year 100% with him in the side.

I think that's fantasy mate. If we go down he will surely go to a bigger club and I wouldn't blame him for a second. Imagine Wilf getting a real opportunity on that left hand side off of a centre forward in a team that creates loads of opporunities and plays on the front foot. He'd literally be unstoppable. Whatever happens, he deserves to make career choices that are best for him.

When he performs to his high standard for a whole season and then again the following season only then can he be compared to Sansom and Wright our two most gifted players of the last 40 years. He's a sub in my all time Palace team.

Zaha is excellent, but my all time favourite has to be Johnny

It may be fantasy, however surely you also need to weigh up his thoughts about 1. Leaving before and not being given a proper chance. 2. Juxtaposing the reception he now gets from every other club vs the reception he gets from our fans. 3. The money in football now meaning that he can feasibly drop down a division on the premise of bouncing back after 1 year, being paid the same and still being young enough for it not to be detrimental to his career. 4. Him having just bought Ron Noades's old place in Purley and being a young father... Yes on the face of it you'd think he'd leave, however his heart is clearly here. I personally don't think we'll go down so this is all "whataboutery", however if the worst did come to the worst, if I was him I'd rather be in a position whereby I'd guarantee a starting place every week, have the backing of the fans and on the proviso of not having a pay decrease get promoted in the first season back and becoming even more of an idol for the people of SE25 that look up to him. 5 years ago there was much for of a financial gap and it would be unfeasible to keep someone like zaha, although I'm sure Newcastle kept carroll in the championship (unless I'm wrong). It can be done, and Parish would be the man to front the cash if so having similar "fanlike" views to the posters on this forum. (I hope...)!
