Having read the garbage on Twitter and our forums i think some fans are getting completely carried away with the defeat at Bristol City. It was not our first team showing a lack of passion/effort it was the players that most of us think are not good enough for the first team anyway. Both the Chelsea and Newcastle game we did not show a lack of passion or effort and that was our first team. They are the players that will be on the pitch tomorrow and if they put in the same effort as the last two games then it will make for a good game. If we can beat Chelsea we sure as hell can beat West Ham.COYP

I totally agree. West Ham have won a Cup game!! it happens. You can't tell me Tottenham would have played like that in a league game. Its a clean slate for us on Saturday

We do stand a chance if we play like we did v Chelsea. But the obvious is we played well v Chelsea and Newcastle and scored 1 goal by ourselves, and that 1 goal this whole season. What a masterstroke! If we didn't have this handicap of no striker we'd stand a very good chance and all of us would have the usual confidence for a home match (home form ignored for a moment). But because of that beneath the early match support the anxiety creeps in if we go a goal down. Anything can happen. Let's hope the anything is another good thing for the 2nd time this season before Benteke comes back in about 5 weeks time.

I still think first goal wins. Regardless of West Hams fightback in midweek. Just a feeling its how the game will go.

Exactly - who cares about a poxy league cup win and so what if our reserves got beat? Better form guide is the recent league games. West Ham were s***e last week whereas last two games and, in particular, the last home game, we were bang on it... Too many pessimists on here... Originally posted by glaziermart
