The total meltdown on here after last night. Our reserves lost 4-1 to Bristol City. I do however, have sympathy for the 2k travelling contingent as the stiffs should have performed better. We will beat West Ham 2-0 Saturday and get back on track. We will not be in the bottom 3 at Christmas, we have loads of winnable games coming up. Keeping the faith!!

To be honest I agree, Bristol City are a good championship team and it was obvious Roy would play our reserves who are reserves for a reason, the biggest surprise for me was us taking the lead!! A cup runs nice, but we've definitely got more important games coming up!! I've got no sympathy for the fans who went either, and I mean that in a good way, I'm sure they all went knowing what was likely to happen. It's still a jolly up, and some will have ticked off a new ground. Edited by monkey (25 Oct 2017 7.15pm)

Maybe, but it wasn't exactly brilliant, was it? Roy was hoping that at least a couple of second-string players would look as if they could be relied on at least as backups to the first X1 but apart from Bakary Sako, who already appears sporadically in the first XI anyway, they impressed only with their ability to get paid for doing nothing. One of them hobbled off injured. Hennesey had his confidence further destroyed. And one of our first XI regular starters disgraced himself with a personal performance that was beyond toilet, and didn't seem to give a t*ss. Oh, and everyone's laughing their arses off at us again. Cosmic. Cos-bl**dy-mic. Edited by chateauferret (25 Oct 2017 7.54pm)

Hennessey, Tomkins, Puncheon, Van Aarnholt, Loftus-Cheek - and arguably Riedeveld, Lee and Sako too - these are all first team players. Not exactly our 'reserve side'.

Poor performances and no on the field leadership from arguably a team made up from half a first team.

Squad players for the most part. Tomkins, Puncheon and RLC are definitely first team players. Van Aarnholt should be, but Reidevald, Lee and Sako should only being played when the options are low. Hennessey is a good back up keeper, but I've never been confident of him as a number 1.
