With the likes of Bakary Sakho and CY Lee on £55k a week, stories like this show just why we're in the position we are with mediocre players we cant move on because we're paying them too much. To think that these two are currently earning more than the likes of Deli Ali is plainly ludicrous The question is...how to get he genie back into the bottle?

Happens across every club in the PL. Even today the story about Success and the brasses revealed that he earns £55k a week.

Are you sure about CY Lee as my understanding is that he's on £25,000 a week

I'd say fair enough if that was the sole reason why we're in a mess, but it isn't. It's a part of it, but most of the reasons start from extending Pardew, not signing a left back and then having to settle for flamini. That had a knock on effect in January, which had a knock on effect on the budget in June, and instead of bearing that in mind with a similar styled manager choice, we got one for even more open football than Pardew. This isn't happening because it's our time or the end of a cycle. Parish's luck ran out without having the best manager available being the only manager available with a big klaxon above his head in June. There were more suitable people available or with prem experience. The leftfield choice and the summer is why we're going down, without a striker to select. Add in Parish always writes off the first few games and even if Frank made that worse, which he did, that choice hasn't worked out well this season, which was always a concern when you take 10 seconds to look at our fixtures. So no surprises really. One day the very risky choice doesn't work in your favour.

A lot of this has been self inflicted. How about Hennessey and Jules? Pick any of those. Edited by Rudi Hedman (09 Oct 2017 3.17pm)

Aren't you getting bored regurgitating the same post several times a day as it must be at least the fiftieth time that you've made your point. Whilst many people including myself broadly agree with your point of view it isn't really necessary to try and beat us all into submission. This particular thread was about how to get rid of players that aren't really good enough but are earning too much and in all honesty your standard response isn't really relevant here

The op said it shows just why we're in this mess so that's why I posted, so it is relevant.

If you don't like that, I couldn't give a fook.
