Is it time to stop playing national anthems before sporting events. It's usually just an excuse for fans to boo the opposition, or is used for political purposes - the absurd posturing by the NFL millionaires being the latest example. (What's the paint on their faces about by the way?)

You have a point.

NFL millionaires are really just hurting their own communities. Since this started TV ratings for the NFL have taken a dive and this will eventually feed into their contracts.

Plenty of these millionaires support multiple poor families and as they continue to bite the hand that feeds them then they will quickly realise that mixing your politics with sport has its own cost.

What a load of nonsense. TV ratings have been dropping over the years anyway. Some people just aren't happy with safety rule changes for example. Only a small % will be attributed to this situation.

Secondly those millionaires are far from hurting the communities they live in. On the whole most of them do far more charity work then most people in the world will do in a lifetime.
Just look at the relief fun JJ Watt set up for an example.

It's pointless arguing with those 2. In their warped minds the players are wrong because they are not white. They don't understand the issues behind What s going on, nor do they want to because it will burst their bigot bubble.

We could argue over the percent.....though your idea that people...to any significant degree, would completely stop watching the sport over safety changes is hard to take seriously.

The fact that these millionaires may do charity work is also of little consequence to the argument made.

Their actions, which have had a major contribution to the decline of the sport will feed into their pay packets.

That will come to hurt their communities. That sir, is no nonsense and anyone with a genuine concern for those communities would be less interested in grandstanding millionaires and more interested about the reality of what those overt public division will inevitably cause.

Politics and sport should be as separate as possible.

You think their ridiculous, virtue-signaling, posturing has any value whatsoever - apart from irritating the vast majority of people, which you no doubt consider a plus.
Do you think anyone will get on their knees when they sing the Red Flag at the conference where they are not allowed to discuss the biggest current issue.

More than the number of your brain cells then.

Just address the issues or go away. Your trolling diverts the thread away from the subject.

It's all white people's fault, right Nick?

You must be ashamed to be white as well as British.

I used to get so angry with anyone who didn't sing God Save The Queen until I really heard the words one day and saw her miserable face on a kingdom of jewels and thought why the f*** am I promoting this?

Land of hope and glory or Jerusalem win for me every day.

As for the protests, fair play. Sit down and have your voice heard if you don't agree with your country and what they are doing. How people can get so offended with others not joining in on a sing-song is pretty hilarious.

Do you have any idea what you are really talking about. The safety changes have effectively changed the game. So yes the rule changes have made a huge difference. It would be a bit like making football no overhead height or heading the ball.

To your second point i'm not going to even discuss.
