For all those on here who continue to defend Steve Parish no matter what and worship him like a god, who was to blame for releasing Frazier Campbell before we appointed a new manager? who was to blame for the fact that we did not sort out a replacement striker (or 2 strikers - given the injury to Wickham as well!!) during the whole of the summer transfer window. Who was at fault for the collapse of the Niasse transfer right at the last minute?? Even if the agent was playing hardball with his fee (surely the long term benefits of staying in this megabucks league would have been worth it)

Now Benteke could be out for two months!!! We really are well and truly in the brown stuff. The chickens have come home to roost

Cant really argue with anything you say there. The cold hard fact seems to be Mr Parish has for some reason taken his eye way off the ball!

Certainly, we can't blame bad luck for our position - it's the result of some very poor long-term planning.

The writing has been on the wall since the close of the transfer window.

Not just the striker situation. What about another goalkeeper? Whether u rate Hennessey or not I think it's clear than Speroni will not be picked for a league match all season. Why no back up there either?

I don't know if players need to be kept on their toes or not by the possibility of being replaced, but possible injuries, loss of form or suspensions have been completely ignored 're Benteke and Hennessey. Someone hasn't done their job properly and should leave. This is the premier league ffs

With Benteke out who is going to score now, hardly prolific was he. He will be replaced by a rough and ready youngster who will try very hard and if he does not score he will still have as many as Benteke.
However I do agree that someone at board level, probably SP missed the boat.

It is a surprisingly poor decision from Mr Parish. I've got no doubt he's ruing his stance, more so after what niasse did at the weekend. He's done so much for this club, I for one will not lose the plot over it . Disappointed yes, but we have to get on with it. Things could pan out favourable for us, we are now definitely the underdog of the division,a tag that gets the best out of us.

We haven't really been well served in the strikers department since we came up when you think of the likes of Wickham (Injuries), Sanogo, Chamakh,Ameobi,Campbell, Remy,Adebayor,Bamford,Wilbraham etc. Even Gayle never really set the world alight.

There is rumours on news now that ricky Lambert in on the radar, 36 year old scouser not fit. I'd rather put Lee up front . Can't be any worse than big Ben.

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

So in a very short time the club have gone from wanting an evolution to play like Ajax to looking at a 36 year old who hasn't played for a while.
