I may be in a minority here, but I really do wish we had stuck with pardew. Everyone is talking about picking a manager with longevity, and giving them opportunity and I really do think pardew suited palace down to the ground. I know he had an awful run and to be fair we arguably have him too much time, but I do honestly think he would have got us out of that slump eventually. We played some very good, exciting football under pardew, and watching the behind the scenes footage of him giving the team talks and the way he managed, he just seemed to really motivate the players. Listening to the way he talks about our owners and just football in general, he's an honest bloke and very palace. This is just a stream of consciousness and I know not many will agree, but I'd have pardew back over hodgson any day

Sky Sports just showed Pardew's smug thumbs-up to Parish after we beat Southampton 3-0 and he thought he'd turned it round. What really happened is we beat a Southampton team that played terribly on the day, and the embarrassing defensive fragility returned straight afterwards until he was sacked. Pardew wasn't turning things around, and thank Christ we got rid of him when we did.

I agree. We were never ever in the relegation zone under Pardew l. Thats the bottom line. And we reached an FA Cup final. Now we can't stay out the relegation zone very long and are a million miles away from being good enough to reach an FA Cup final

I miss Pardew,....like a bullet in the head I've had other girlfriends. and I'd say Pardew had some similar traits to Peter Taylor. All very good on paper, but the end result was really rather flaccid. They both had time and opportunity to give it their best, but fell short of the Happy Ending Edited by Forest Hillbilly (16 Sep 2017 12.24pm)

Burnley have gone down and come back up with their manager, would you be so against doing that with pardew?

I am on your side. What has happened since is not very encouraging. Sam Allerdyce was only ever going to be short term. FdB was originally for the long term but something went horribly wrong . At over 70 Hodgson is not going to be for long. What the next move will be no one knows.

i miss him to and if he had been afforded the cash sam was he wouldav also kept us up easily. anyway, that bridge has passed and we now have another short term manager to get behind. my only hope is neville comes in alongside woy to be developed for the future.

I agree, we should move on. Not sure about letting Neville in however....

Miss him I never will. He had plenty of time to turn it around and he failed immensely. Exciting football going forward yes, becuase we have exciting players. Absolutely in competent in defensive organisation... the teams defensive confidence is still at rock bottom becuase of him. He'll never work in the Prem again.

We were never in the relegation zone under Pardew and were a mid table side. We went backwards when we sacked him. We've been fighting to stay up ever since, now under 3 different managers.
