Actually has an atmosphere tonight, Germans taking liberties buying home shirts and memberships and taking over the stadium.
Arsenal fans tweeting moaning that they are surrounded by Germans, like their fans never do it when they play smaller clubs!

Looking at the flags there's loads of arsenal Germany banners. Masterstroke

I heard there was 20,000 in London. I saw a video of thousands walking down the road and pavement in the west end. Whole road and pavement covered with Koln fans hundreds of yards long, all singing.

I thought Cologne had a sniff of victory at 1-0 but they seem to have lost their bottle and it's evaporated.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Cologne have lost all their 3 games in the Bundesliga this season.

Arsenal not at full strength with the likes of Cech,Ozil,Ramsey,Xhaka,Koscielny and Lacazette all missing.

From the clip of the away fans marching through London tonight I thought they looked mustard.

Fair play to anyone who tries to create a bit of atmosphere.

Impressed with the Cologne support, very passionate and relatively trouble free. Bound to be a few idiots amongst 20,000 but it didn't appear many.

Arse fans obviously weren't that bothered turning up, they should have given Cologne a larger ticket allocation.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Cologne are a big club in Germany and get 50,000 attendances.Even in the lower division they were getting 40,000 and this was their first foray into Europe for some 25 years. Many turned up in London for the experience and questions must be raised as to how they infiltrated home areas when their ticket allocation was just 2,900.

Rather obviously, Arsenal fans sold on their tickets.

Cologne were elated to be in the Europa league, Arsenal were totally nonplussed about it.

The worst thing though is they still let them in to the stadium even though they'd identified the problem before anyone got in. Any German fan that had a ticket other than for the blocks allocated to them officially should've been refused entry. The loss of time and money would discourage them from doing it again, whereas now they'll just chance it whatever the allocations are for any game.

Optimistic as ever
