DeBoer was clueless! He didn't have a Scooby! Pre season: tried playing possession football which worked fine until the other team pressed high then we lost possession, Liverpool showed this. In Europe its well known that the attacking team will be allowed possession without being pressed too much, this showed against Schalke. That doesn't happen in the Premier and we all know that.. Season: Playing 2nd rate full backs as wing backs who couldn't take on a player if their life depended on it. Playing 5 defenders and 2 CDM against a newly promoted team and in turn created very little on the pitch... Against Swansea he went so defensive that the 2 wingers up front one of which was McArthur lol! had to drop deeper due to the wing backs naturally falling back to their comfortable positions that it left Benteke completely isolated the whole match. Against Burnley we were close to getting a goal and he was sat on the bench with his arms folded feeling sorry for himself when he should of been on the touchline encouraging the team on.. FDB didn't know what he was trying to do and it showed. he was completely out of his depth, and he ran out of ideas 3 matches into the season, then decided to changed the formation probably due to Sammy Lee. So Well done board for identifying this early and acting on it. Edited by barrie2301 (12 Sep 2017 6.34pm)

Good luck with this thread. While I agree that getting rid of FdB quickly was for the best you do have to ask who appointed him in the first place and why. It's been a monumental cock up and responsibility for that rests squarely with CPFC.

SP is Undoubtedly responsible for this f*ck up. FDB was the wrong fit for us from day one. Fair play to him for pulling the trigger early enough. A agree about these so called experts. They can f*ck off and do one. If what's been said about his manner on the training pitch in pissing off everyone is true that alone is enough to get rid. Let alone the fact that he couldn't set up a game of tiddlywinks let alone a football team. His substitutions were crap and he seemed completely unaware of how sh*t we have looked. Moving Luka and Ward over to every position on the pitch in preaseason and then changing when the season starts. He was a moron. Having said all that, it was still SPs mistake and he needs to take a step back and stay in the boardroom. These reports that Damo, Ward and Julian are on personal terms with him and are often texting about things like the manager etc is pretty dodgy and to be honest none of them are really good enough anymore but they are still here, I wonder who decided to extend their contracts. He is a good chairman, but he needs to learn from his recent mistakes.

Totally agree, parish was brave to do what he did, he's got balls fair play to him. Thing that dawned on me today was every single pundit I heard and read said it would fail. Now they're heavily criticising his sacking so early. I actually agree with both these opinions but when you step back and think and consider how inept he was and carefree of some critical areas, you have to question having both opinions.

I'd like to know what he thought about the appointment. I actually share Jordan's opinion on this which I rarely do. I did on the appointment when everyone was digging out Jordan and I do now. But when you start hearing some of the cr&p, and I mean more isolating players without realising you might need them very soon and indeed did, it doesn't look good to Frank. You get people out gradually you don't want, not treat them like sh1t and expect them to come in rusty and save you. But 'gradual' is just a meaningless word to Frank. Frank lives in a fantasy and reality hasn't dawned on him yet. Players aren't sold the moment you tell them they're being sold and players who cannot do certain things just can't. Thinks he's better and more clever than he is, but so does Parish, in football matters.
