Sat in pub with a fan on each table aside me, one a 30 something human being with a bit of sense, the other an opinionated ignoramus know(f*ck)all, type of bloke who gets to 50 and think he knows the lot, white van man straight off Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. I described Chungy's back pass as the worst I'd ever seen, but our friend had seen much worse in his time supporting Palace blah blah blah Scott Dann's header miss was down to us having only one striker, and when me and the normal one said we played OK and were unlucky, good interplay etc, the self-appointed expert was certain that this was 3rd division level gone up to 2nd despite the fact we'd outplayed a premiership team. Long intro, he's a season ticket holder and was shocked, like many, at how bad we were in our first two home games. But there was this ...'we haven't got the players for tippy tappy ... not enough hard tackling ... not enough effort ... pace (he hsad a point there)'. But didn't have a b*stard clue and didn't know what he was looking at, and couldn't tell the difference between performance and result, and they don't always match. But I can see a groundswell of d*ckhead opinion that will leap on anything that isn't instant or direct, and when things go wrong they'll point the finger in the wrong place blaming big ideas when it's lack of them that's the problem. The old git in the pub for me is a BOEREXITEER, while having seen this performance I have seen enough that FDB should be backed till December at the earliest - we have good players, we know where we need to add, FDB's analysis of where we are as a club and where we need to go was so impressive it got him the job ... so I hereby declare myself a REMAINER. I never thought I'd say it, but maybe at the moment we could have done with a REMY-NER (Loic - if fit)
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

In FDB we trust. We have to give him more time, to sack after 4 games would make no sense at all. COYP!!!

He didn't do too much wrong today, apart from selecting Lee and I thought putting Riedewald on was curious. Obviously when you become Palace manager you take an oath never to drop Puncheon no matter how badly he plays. But the tactics were the right ones and he did get us to "show some balls". He also needs to brush up on his pressers. "Football is about scoring goals and we didn't score any". No s***, Sherlock.

I think it's probably unwise to convert this into a mock up of the EU referendum but just to stir the pot I'd guess the Boerexiteer also voted brexit None of that foreign tippy tappy nonsense over here!

Before today I wanted him out but we should have won comfortably and the reason we didn't wasn't his fault. If we play like that against Southampton we will win so I think he deserves a bit longer. The only things that concern me are why he played Lee , disrespective of the mistake he made, and why he can't see what everyone else can, that Puncheon shouldn't be in the team.

Tbh, I'm getting to the point where I really don't care if FDB stays or goes ... I'll probably be somewhere else.

He played Lee because he played well v Swansea. The back pass was not Frank's fault, and I've criticised Frank loads. Where he could've improved on that decision would be Chungy on the right and Townsend on the left. All this checking back onto their strongest foot slows it all down and is bollox frankly.

Agree, we had no threat from the left. He could have mixed it up like Allardyce and even Pardew did.

Today is the day. We are in a war and our leaders namely Steve Parish and Frank De Boer have a battle to win.

Unfortunately that's impossible as Townsend just throws he toys out the pram when he's told to play on the left. Bit of a one trick pony constantly cutting in but it's a bit hard to slag him off when he's our most creative player.
