Won't be long until Parish saves some money and makes himself manager. Edited by miles18 (02 Sep 2017 3.29pm)

Whatever your thoughts on Williams ability/future etc you can't question that he's got a great attitude. To comeback from so many injuries and be shipped out here there and everywhere and he always looks happy. Also the skysports reporter who was up in Sunderland reporting on the transfer at about 11pm said Jonny had driven about 6hrs up from the Wales training camp to finalise the deal. Signed some stuff for supporters and had photos with them and then turned round to drive all the way back to join up with the Wales squad. Good attitude in this day and age of modern pampered footballers. Always liked his style of play and although I believe the odds are stacked against him would love for him one day to get another chance...hell he'd probably get on the ball more than Puncheon Edited by samprior (02 Sep 2017 3.34pm)

I think he's just keeping him on for either when a good offer comes in or we get relegated. The good offer has a better chance if he's on loan to a club winning promotion.

Quote Parish knows Williams can be a real asset to Sunderland, and then Palace when he returns.
He said: "We want to get him fit and we know he can do a really good job. I know the owner up there really well and I wouldn't send him anybody other than someone that I felt could really help them and I think Jonny really can. "Jonny's a great player, he just needs an injury-free season and he gets his strength back and he can get in our team. He's been out for a while, he just needs games."

Getting sick of him now he needs to just fade into background and do just his job let others be it's not his place to decide which players are wanted.

Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way but surely it's the manager to decide if he has a future. It is an unusual quote from a football club chairman after all I don't remember reading any comments from Avram Glazer that he was sending us Timothy Fosu-Mensah and that after a year's first tem experience he would get into Manchester United's team

He only decided on Wilf. Who got rid of Fraizer Cambell and Joe Ledley then as Allardyce had already left and no new manager had been appointed
