'However, Townsend insists the players need to take responsibility for their slow start and he is convinced results will improve after the international break. When asked whether the team is struggling to adapt to De Boer's approach, Townsend told Your Local Guardian: "No, of course not. We played it in pre-season, we did well against Liverpool and West Brom in Hong Kong, and we played well last Saturday against Liverpool." He added: "There are no excuses, we know we're better than what we're doing so it's down to us, the 11 players selected and the substitutes, to turn it around." The forward feels Palace are creating enough chances and he feels the players who those opportunities are falling to need to do better in front of goal. "I'm not used to playing off Christian [Benteke], that’s a fact. But at the end of the day we've created chances," he said. "Yeah, you can say that last season we were effective playing a different way. But I've had five or six shots with no goals, Christian's had a couple and no goals, and [James] McArthur's had a couple and no goals. "You can talk about formations all day long, but we've created the chances and we just need to start putting them away. Then it's a completely different team."' - I think that on top of not having to rely on Martin Kelly and Wayne Hennessey and he speaks sense. Edited by Mstrobez (28 Aug 2017 9.10pm)

Unless the defence is akin to how it was under Sakho then harping on about Hennessey is not going to change things. The six goals conceded so far have not been Wayne's fault although he was unlucky with Swansea's second goal inasmuch as he got to the ball first but was unlucky with the rebound. Other so called better keepers have conceded goals such as Hart, Shmeichel, Czech and Bergovic. Our need is for a decent defence and more firepower up front before we look at a new keeper.

Hennesey should have put ball, player and a decent sized divot of turf into the upper tier of the stand but apart from that he hasn't done too much wrong and kept us in it against the bin dippers. We are however a keeper light, whether you think Hennesey should be firsst pick or not.

Its weird how Frank has 3 games to be deemed absolute dog s***, yet someone like Hennessey can be in his 4th season of drivel and still be considered as a good enough number one. Insane mindset in my opinion
