Seemed to let the game pass him by, is the captaincy weighing him down, looks disinterested to me.
Lacking conviction in his role ? Is he/can he drive the team forward, or is it too much for him and the midfield ?

and it's goodnight from me.......

He now plays a role as a t-Rex! All I see him do all game is pointing, not actually getting stuck in. He didn't want the ball! Not only should he no longer be captain. He needs to be dropped!

Both he and Ward are shadows of their former selves and should not be in the team

Quite simple he has reached the end of the line, if you think back he's not been effective for almost 2 years. Gone are the days of him really "making it happen" he is now shot shy when going forward and his passing is frankly awful. Seems he can only run in circles or turn backwards. Time for him to be taken out of the firing line.

Sadly you are right as things currently stand. It is possible that the captaincy is weighing Punch down and he seems to lack confidence in all that he does. When did he last score a goal or even looked like scoring one ? He loves the Palace and must be scared of doing the wrong thing and this may be preventing him from playing his natural game. Wardy still tries his best to give 100% but now seems to be in two minds about going forward or staying back. Am I the only one, but I thought that he played more of a wing back anyway getting forward and playing in some fair crosses from the right. Perhaps he has taken the new style too much to heart and is confusing himself. Just play your normal game mate and, if Frank doesn't like it, he knows what he can do as most supporters will be behind you.

Nothing to do with the captaincy, he was poor way before that. Should not be playing cm. If he has to play put him in the front 3 where he can't be such a liability

I suspect Jason is one of the few players who loves the club and genuinely cares. There were players a lot worse than him yesterday and from what I witnessed he looked anything but 'disinterested'. As unpopular as this sentiment might be among the fickle boo boys, give it a rest.

I love the club, play football and care too, but is that enough to put me in the team? Punch & Waard ahve come to the end of line...time for a change.
What about Chungy? Thought he looked positive and at least tried to play, run and have a go....

my point, perhaps badly expressed, is that Jason is being unfairly singled out. I find it ironic that a club like ours would choose to gang upon him when there are other more 'mercenary' characters who are equally deserving of criticism.

Had others taken their (pretty decent) chances yesterday I suspect people would he hailing Jason's captaincy, as they did a few months ago when he was playing the same game under Sam.

I do however agree with your comments about Chungy.

Jason Puncheon has been one of our best players in recent years... However before this season started I was wondering whether the attacking midfield centre position he played between Wilf and Andros could do with bolstering... However different formation now and he's deeper than before, don't know if he's as effective this way?

He really hasn't. We have been pretty much been playing with 10 men for the past 2 years. He offers us nothing, either attacking or defending.
