I think we'll go to a back 4 after the international break if we can't get something against Swansea. Another couple of seasons of building in safety under Allardyce would have been perfect for this club.

Interesting that the poll at the bottom presently has 69% of people thinking that FDB will have Palace finishing in the top half.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

I agree but allardyce quit didnt he so it's got nothing to do with him. If he was still here he could do it his way couldn't he.

He felt that given we had just avoided relegation we weren't in a particularly strong position to start tinkering with the formation and trying to adopt a new system. He felt that once we were relatively stable we could then look to move things on.

Interesting that the poll at the bottom presently has 69% of people thinking that FDB will have Palace finishing in the top half. The night-and-day turnaround in performance from Huddersfield to Liverpool shows that they can work the system. They skipped past a banana skin on Tuesday (look at Newcastle to see what could've happened) and now there is another benchmark test coming Saturday at home to Swansea. Ajax won't be built in a day. But saying that we have to waste the first half of the season - maybe two-thirds or even three-quarters - to ensure safety before switching to the new system is a pretty negative approach. Not out of character for Sam, but Palace have shown time and time again that we can tank half a season and still survive. For the record, I think FdB will have this team, playing his system, humming along in no time. It's so close already, and that's without Zaha and Cabaye in the team who are both well-suited to it. Plus, we're not done in the transfer market where, despite allegedly having no money to spend (meaning: not ridiculous Sakho money), I think the club has done fantastically well so far with still more (Wimmer, goalie) possibly to come.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |
