Where are all the fans on CUP games like tonight? I know some people can’t afford or make it because of work- but come on that can’t be everyone.. So many posts on here for tickets to popular games or moaning about loyalty points. All start with “I’ve been a palace fan for 25 years but have no loyalty points” Desperate for a ticket against Brighton but won’t go to game against Ipswich at home!! If we get to the final or semi-final suddenly everyone has time off work or cash on the hip. Tonight was a positive game for the players and the fans should have been there….. Wonder if all the people posting about parish, frank or moaning about the new system actually went to the game tonight to show their support?

Number of reasons that I can think of. It's just the EFL Cup; It's Tuesday night; Most if not all teams including us are putting out mainly 2nd string sides; Tractor boys. Historically, traditionally and bloody rightly early round League Cup games have the lowest attendances for competitive matches in the top 2 divisions of English football. I figure if we had drawn Leicester that we would have put out a stronger side and a few more would have travelled. For me the reason was simple. I live in Amsterdam and didn't finish work until 8pm UK time.

No excuses, Wizlon. You could've made it for the final whistle or possible extra time! Seriously, I was as dedicated as the op when I was a teenager but you eventually realise it's not the same for everyone. If we had a full house tonight I'd have gone, whoever the opposition and trophy.

I think that as our home form is so s*it, a £500 season season ticket has worked out at about 3 home wins a season. last couple of seasons , stops people bothering at home in the cup.

Sorry I wanted to spend some time with my family tonight... but I do have a season ticket... is that ok with you??
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

If we had a full house tonight I'd have gone, whoever the opposition and trophy. I was the same in the late 80s and early 90s, worked as a Steward at Selhurst, went to every away game usually coach 1 or 2 (1 for gambling & drinking. 2 for chanting and drinking.), even friendlies and pre-season. I even used to go to POTY & end of season parties in Crystals... Hell I even had the privilege of stewarding a coach to Villa Park for the Semi, can only remember getting s*** faced, but somehow managed to get everyone back OK. Even with this amount of so called loyalty, I've got to admit that when I started to ease up on my attendance due to life stuff, it was League Cup games that got missed out first of all the competitive games. But in my defence, I'm real pissed off that I couldn't get a stream for tonight's game, EFL Cup or not.

It's the Rumbelows Milk Cup. I'm amazed that many turned up. I didn't.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
