Without looking at that yet I did think we looked pretty dangerous for the 1st 15 minutes, except for the ball played to our absent left back position about 2 minutes in.

It's an interesting statistic, but can't be used to say 'we deserved to win' or 'on another day that same performance would have won us the game'. The scoreline didn't flatter Huddersfield at all, though we did miss some great chances.

It's all very well having the greater number of chances, but they're a waste if you don't stick them away. Let's hope we're working on that.

It's the old adage: I'd be worried if we weren't creating chances,
and the fact that Huddersfield's Chances weren't as good suggests that our defense did better than we think...either that or we defended so bad the chances they created would normally be hard, but we made It easy for them!

The quality of the chances we created says SFA about how f***ing s***e our defending was and if that isn't sorted out we are goosed.

Or, in other words, our defending wasn't good enough. Where have we heard that before when trying to change our style of play?

I assume it doesn't include the 2 chances where Huds players ran through our high defense line only to be thwarted by magnificent late tackles from behind. Neither player got a shot in, but both should probably have scored.

True, but as we all remember from the last few months of Pardew's tenure, you can create chances and score them too - but if you're defensively inept, you won't get any points.

I don't think we should be too worried about scoring enough goals, whatever system we play; it's just defensive organisation that concerns me after Saturday.

We did look dangerous at times, it was one of those days. If Benteke puts that one away at the start of the second half all of a sudden it's game on at 2-1.

In a way, the nature of some of Huddersfield's chances were also slightly positive (maybe a bit OTT, 'less negative' a fairer assessment?). A number of them came from individual mistakes, which is the sort of thing that can be rectified and will get better as we get used to the system.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I think the biggest reason for positivity is the rational realisation that things can't be anywhere near as bad as the hysteria on this website would have you believe. I've witnessed plenty of meltdowns on here before but never one like this after a single game before, it's been outrageous. Dread to think what it will be like if we lose to Liverpool.
