This weekend, does anyone know where to watch it without paying to get in? Will be taking my 2 yr old daughter so won't be staying for too long. I've noticed a couple of pubs near leaves green, the crown and kings arm's, any of these any good for viewing?

Always used to watch it from my nan's back garden but sadly she passed away last year. However, new people moved into her gaff. I don't know them but you could always knock if I PM you the address?

Thanks mate, would have sounded good if your nan didn't die last year (sorry for your loss). I think they might find it a bit weird, a stranger knocking on there door, wanting to sit in there garden watching the planes lol.

Yeah in hindsight it was a rubbish idea! Hope you find somewhere to watch it though.

Top of Addo, little lane, Jewels Hill, to Biggin Hill, farm on the left, forget the name. Farmer lets his field to viewers, some people go proper organised, BBQs and all sorts. Couple of quid per car, was a few years ago mind. Edited by Temps (16 Aug 2017 7.54pm)

That's been cancelled this year, the air show said as it's on the flight path it's too dangerous to have people watching from the field, if they went ahead they would have to cancel some of the displays. Health and safety gone mad.

You pay the owner £5 (regardless of the number of you. It's the vehicle you pay for) and you can park in the top field walk down to the bottom field and bring a bbq picnic etc etc. They had a bouncy castle and ice cream van and port a loos there . The red arrows flew right across our heads in formation. It's a great view as the aircraft have to come out that far to do the stunts which the main arena can view. Will find out the road on which it is. Edited by Michaelawt85 (17 Aug 2017 2.23pm)

Health and safety gone mad. What a load of bollocks. We went the year shoreham happened and watched. What they mean is they don't want people watching without paying vast sums to go into the airport itself. w***ers

I completely understand the farm not being allowed to do it now. 30 odd years and not a single incident is clearly dangerous! Out of interest, what about any houses below the various flight Paths? Are the occupants told to wear hard hats just in case.
