A new palace manager that has got so much stick after one game. We've had a lot over the years and can't remember one getting slaughtered after one game. Thought palace fans were better than that. After managers like holloway, pullis and allardyce, we finally get a young, respected manager, who wants to change the way we play, give youth a chance, and build something long term. This is going to take time, we're probably going to loose more than we win early on. I know saturday was bad, but the game was over when we let in two bad goals in 5 mins. But we had 3 new very young, very good players playing their first game for us, who will only improve I wonder if these 3 players would have come to us if it wasn't frank in charge. I'll be amazed if we don't do more business before the transfer window finishes and end up with the best squad we've ever had. So why not appreciate what he's trying to do, see how the next few games go, and have a bit of patience.

He didn't get stick at the game. It's only online through genuine concern from logical reasons going back to just before the announcement of Frank and now.

He has an excellent assistant in Sammy Lee. I suggest he uses him.

The problem lies is, we seen the problem 12 months ago. Our players lose confidence easy. If the Pardew stint wasn't fresh in fans minds, then he'd be less of a drama. Why after RLC playing well in pre season at cm play in the front 3 for the first half. Also didn't fancy ward all pre season it seemed and in the line up ahead of Townsend.

Concerns were expressed as soon as de Boer arrived and announced that it was going to be 3-4-3 before he had even assessed the squad. "Changing the way we play, giving youth a chance and building something long term" are all fine aspirations to have, but we also need to be picking up points.

If he is in it for the long game, as you seem convinced, then he's plenty of time to mould the team the way he wants and doesn't need to impose a system overnight when it's obvious we don't have the players to make it work, nor it would seem, the cash to buy them.

As already mentioned elsewhere, he decided on 3-4-3 after seeing what he had, preferring 4-3-3. I can only assume he is seeing something on the training ground that is not materialising on the pitch because I'd have thought 4-3-3 was much better suited to us.

Speaking ahead of Palace's match with West Brom in Hong Kong today (Saturday), de Boer said: "I am very fond of 4-3-3 which I have played in all my life, but on the other side you have to look at your squad and I think that right now 3-4-3 is the best system."

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Has there ever been a manager whose debut performance was such a honking pile of complete s***e? I don't think we have a precedent for this situation.

Certainly not of FDB's supposed calibre. Getting tonked by a newly promoted team, at home, seems to be a new low.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Why should it have been four? If you're going on missed chances then we should have won.

This is very true. Bit of perspective is needed. One game and people already want him sacked by the noises being made. Its a bad result sure but tell me a time ever when Palace have gone out and beaten the opposition consistently week in week out when its a game we're expected to win. I'll tell you, NEVER

If dann or benteke had scored to make it 2-1, could have been a totally different story. Small margins...still don't know how their keeper saved his header. Was sitting right behind goal and was celebrating as he headed it...
