I find it very interesting that we continue to see scores of fans on this site who cannot stand anyone being critical, raising a concern, criticizing an individual such as SP, or generally being negative or showing signs of frustration. Please dont get me wrong, I dont think anyone suggesting we fire the manager today is in their right mind, but we should all understand that we have a bit of a disaffected fan base at the minute. We have lurched from one season to the next, yes surviving, but never progressing. Pardew tried some things and it didnt work, and there wasnt a chairman in the league who would not have fired him after the Swansea game, except old dithering Steve. The Pulis fiasco left a bad taste in everyone's mouth then we finally seem to be moving forward and our manager not only resigns but retires! That game against Huddersfield was a massive kick in the nuts to me personally, and I actually cant think of a more severe one since we got promoted. All the hope and fanfare was shattered with an utterly shambolic performance which was a complete embarrassment. Anyway, I dont want to drone on about WHY some fans are cheesed off, but can we all be a bit more tolerant of the whole purpose of this site which is to discuss dissenting opinions. Replying to a post with t*** or something like that is what I would expect from a 6 year old.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

This is a very good honest post, I feel the same. We have limped from season to season and the progress has been somewhat short. For me we have without doubt better players now but they are not producing the performances we expect. The question is why? SP for me is great but I am beginning to doubt his skill to take us to the next level. I believe (and all this is just opinions) feel we should of got the guy who went to Watford in not FdB but I really do hope I am wrong

But I think Syeve wanted Pellegrino who, like Frank, wanted Southampton. So we ended up with a mush mash fit with Frank. But he is our manager so we can moan on here until it looks doomed. But until then we support and cut out the embarrassing booing. Spurs or Newcastle we aren't. Oh and I think Budapest is 5 and not 6.

Better to be venting spleen on here than at Selhurst I always think. Not that I am telling anyone what they can or can't do either, but unless some Premier League footballers are on this forum to see whether we love them or not (I doubt it) then they'll not got much feedback from this forum. If they do read it then they'll probably more interested in what's under Jamie's patio.

Despite the grotesque money they earn I actually feel sorry for the players sometimes. Mainly as they are unlikely to fulfil their potential being drafted into systems of playing which are not related to their ability. I could see Punch and Wardy trying to get their heads around the 'new' system as well as playing Huddersfield. And that is only the system they started the match playing! Still with Palace they can always look forward to a new manager regularly, and yes with another new system (much better than that ridiculous 4-1-4-1 rubbish that worked).... Best manager at this stage IMO Dougie Freedman as the players would be more able to express and play to their strengths, he was quite aware of having a solid defence.

I think it is the shock of a sound beating by a newly promoted side in the first game.

Hypocrite Yeah you're right. For a manager who would average 1 win every 6 games and ship about 11 goals away to 3 of the worst teams in the league, I was out of order. He should've been excused for the worst league record in Europe over 12 months and the contract extension that pressured him in his mind to show he was worth it by promising some sort of progression, sorry transition (excuse for failure), should've been 7-10 years. Yes we should've been kinder to him and kept him on. All those prem clubs fighting over his signature confirm it. Frank has been here 1 match. Pardew was gradually destroying everything we'd built. Unfit, poor preparation in the summer, in international breaks, before every match. No defensive coaching, or if there was the players had to do it themselves the next day. Yes I'm a hypocrite. Ha ha.
