The great things that steve parish and the board have done for our club has been exceptional but the fact remains we have one fit striker heading into our first game of the season on Saturday. We have not a prem standard goalkeeper according to many. Potentially starting a defensive midfielder at cb because of lack of signings. Not adequate right back cover. This has become a regular occurrence especially under Steve parish stewardship. I understand the window doesn't close until the end of the month. Anyone else feel these frustrations ? We have 2 (hopefully ) of the best loan deals we have ever had, and bought, in my opinion potentially one of the best young defenders ,in europe. All thanks to fdbs influence. Everyone knows most transfers are done at the end of the window. We have a young, exciting manager who we had never dreamed would come to palace, who is trying to change our style and make us an established premiership club. Exciting times. And still people are moaning...unbelievable

If we don't get another striker in by the end of the window I will be slightly concerned, but if luck goes our way and Tekkers stays fit then it won't matter if we don't. If we don't and he gets injured then of course it would be reasonable to question things. In other words, don't jump the gun. Who knows, maybe Frank will bring some wild years to the Palace and we will see youngens blooded, which is what everyone says they want anyway. Maybe Ladapo will turn out to be the next Wright, or Keshi the next Bright, or Mutch the next Pardew...oh wait... The fact of the matter is we just don't know how this will all pan out. For all we know Mutch will turn out to be a world class goalkeeper. COYP

Don't play 3-4-3 and we'll probably be alright this time. Play it and I'm not sure. Last season we threw away too many points vs West Brom and Bournemouth at home with Spurs away in between. Left us with 1 point from 9 and near enough bottom. Pardew's amateur approach and lack of fitness were a factor, but I'll never forget the frustration at the Holmesdale end when defending a corner vs Bournemouth in the 1st half and the team all over the shop. We can't be complacent vs the poorer sides in this easier start. The aim is to progress away from the bottom, not make it difficult for ourselves to do so.

Edited by CPFC/SCCC (09 Aug 2017 10.22am) No complete opposite for me - I feel very positive particularly in regard to FdB's appointment. I think Wilf will blossom under Frank and I am very encouraged by his willingness to play youngsters - I would love a player or two from the academy to get a chance this season. How you can be frustrated before the season has even begun is frankly beyond me!
