Yep, I watch Essex teams if I can't get to palace away games, Dagenham mainly, occasionally Redbridge Hornchurch or Barkingside.

Love a bit of non league. Used to go regularly to watch Burgess Hill Town in my youth, and get to watch them occasionally when I go back to visit my parents. Been to AFC Totton (even lower standard) with my son a few times, lovely ground. We are moving to the Wirral in a couple of months so I guess it'll be Tranmere Rovers this season?!

Used to watch Maidenhead Town a bit back when my friends lived in Maidenhead - I'd crash over on a Friday then go watch the game before getting a train home.

Yeah - I used to watch Caterham Old Boys - mainly because I was inevitably the substitute. You get to win things like 'Best Sportsman' at the annual awards when you do that.

I used to watch Epsom and Ewell many years ago as my parents house overlooked their ground. In the early seventies they had some decent players and managed to get to Wembley in the final of the FA Trophy which my father and I went to. The team was subsequently broken up with three players sold to Millwall and Charlton Their ground was sold for redevelopment and they were never the same again but one of their later players was one AS Pardew in his early days

Yep, Burgess Hill Town. Progressed two tiers in the 20 years I've watched them but spent a couple if seasons struggling at this level. Very short walk from my house and £6 a game. Boom!

Followed Aylesbury United (2-0, to the green Brazil) whilst living in Buckingham. Should really check in on Billericay Town FC these days but I certainly don't feel "Essex enough" to do it - it would be full of overweight Kevin Bacons playing banjos whilst wearing full West Ham kits and eating whelks.

They have done very well, although I do wonder what the next few years holds for them. They do look a little out of their depth at their current level - but I'm guessing it would take a lot of money for them to establish themselves in that league.

There's nothing to suggest they can or will progress any further. That's not a criticism, but just above the relegation places is their peak for the time being. When you look at the other clubs and their infrastructures you'd have to say that a big change in facilities and ownership/investment would be needed. It doesn't stop me watching them because I don't need to see them progress any further. It could one day get a bit stale maybe, but not yet.

That's the thing with non league football, and why it is so great. If some money did come in, and they got a couple of promotions, improved facilities etc then would you actually enjoy it any more? Probably not. After all, if that's what you wanted then you would drive up the a23 and go watch Crawley :-0
