Based on pre season (particularly today) what will De Boer be working on and thinking about this week?

For me it's...

Decide on the starting line-up. Is today's XI the best for Huddersfield? Lovely to see Speroni play, and whilst WH isn't good enough, there's a reason why Speroni hadn't been able to oust him. Luka at the back? Lokilo to start? Townsend at wing back?

Get the best out of Zaha. Stick Wilf out on the wing and there's not much coaching required other than to get him the ball quickly and often. Playing inside as a free roving no10 is very different. We can't afford to reduce his influence at all, and so if his position is to change then we need to make sure he's as effective there as on the wing.

Get the ball in to benteke more. We spent ages passing the ball amoungst ourselves at the back today. Possession is fine but we smashed our transfer record for a striker who thrives on crosses and direct play.

Tweak the pattern of play. We got caught several times today mucking about in our own third, and will be punished in the league games if we make the same mistakes against quick and dangerous counter attacking teams.

Tidy up the defence. We have been pulled wide open by basic balls over the top time and again in pre season. The gaps between Dann and the wide centre backs were huge today, far too big for him to cover. When Luka and the Dutch lad pulled wide to make passing angles Dann was a back 1.

Hooray, so glad to read this. Thought I was alone in being concerned that the defensive stability restored by Big Sam has been unpicked in a matter of weeks and that our best players Wilf, Townsend and Milo are being played out of position.

I haven't seen any of the friendlies, but this whole change of system worries the crap out of me. Why not just keep it simple, the players know what works and being too clever doesn't, not at least until we get 40 points anyway.

The most basic element is required which is pass quicker. We are so slow that our players get marked. We take far to many touches on the ball. Pass and move so bloody basic.

Nobody was allowed to raise concerns regarding recruitment and degree of change. Hopefully it'll be okay.

Huddersfield will beat us and that means every prem team would at the moment with the system we are playing plus the personnel within that system. We just aren't good enough to play that way?

I sincerely hope you're wrong, but fear you're 100% right.

Why not, we've improved every game in this system, one or two tweaks and can see this being effective. The negativity is unbelievable. Last season we lost 11 games at home. I do agree though about moving the ball quicker and passing for the sake of it.

Last season form at home
