Given how Wilf is often treated by referees is anyone else worried that he will end up suspended this season for supposed simulation?

I think Direwolf is implying Wilf is incorrectly perceived to be a cheat by inept refereeing.... I think a lot of the time that's true. There is a difference between diving and letting the ref know you were fouled.

My guess is it will only get used a half dozen times a year, and only for Snodgrass like simulation.

Hopefully if anything it might show how often Wilf is unfairly treated. Wish diving became something that you could rescind a card for.

The great w*anker Mark Cl*ttenfu*ck said that simulation was very hard to detect. What he should have said was that it was very hard for refs to decide whether or not a player has simulated. MC did of course notoriously book Wilf for diving in the Watford match, when to everyone else (apart possibly from W*llo) it was clearly a pen. With his quote, the up-himself MC was posing as the great simulation detective. A ref with more humility would acknowledge that this a very difficult call which refs can get wrong. The video review system should obviously allow players who are called wrongly (like Wilf) to appeal against the ref's decision. In the Watford match, of course, this would have been too late to bring the correct result, which would have been a Palace victory - and spared us much of the late-season agony.

The problem is that he's almost universally regarded as doing more diving than Tom Daley, especially by the south coast mummy's boys. Remember what happened with the penalties that Andy Johnson was winning until Wenger decided to get involved. Don't be surprised to hear something similar from Hughton this season, especially if we give them a thrashing or two.

Ignoring the reprehensible slurs, Mark is 100% correct and other referees around the globe would express similar sentiments. Supporters are all brilliant referees when they see umpteen replays of an incident using "Slow-mo" etc etc.Referees should not be pilloried - "Fire" should be turned on players who week in and week out try to con referees.
