What time roughly would need to get there for autographs before the friendly on Saturday?

It all depends on whether they arrive in their own cars, or all together by coach. If they are allowed to arrive by car, then 12-1pm will get you most of their autographs. If however they continue Sam's routine from last season of arriving by coach, then that will pull up in Holmesdale Road about 1.15 - 1.30, but don't expect anyone other than Speroni to sign an autograph for anyone

Jules is a true gent and always has time for the fans, me and my son normally catch them after the game when they go past the fan zone to their cars.

I thought that 'Selfos' were all the rage these days rather than autographs. If players merely walk past with those darned headphones and ignore young supporters who support them through thick and thin and not take a minute or two to make them so happy with a 'Selfo' or 'Autograph' then this really is disreputable. I appreciate that security concerns may enter the equation as so called "Stars" are shephered in by security but if this is not the case then players really should make the effort to please their supporters.

One of the main reason players don't sign autographs, especially on merchandise, is because so many end up on eBay. The headphones are so that they can avoid any communication with the common herd, for which I can't blame them.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Don't like all this headphone business.Players should at least acknowledge supporters rather than looking all aloof and ignoring those who have paid hard earned money to support their team.Just a wave or a smile wouldn't go amiss rather than what seems to happen these days.By the way I fully appreciate that some players don't act in such a fashion. Totally agree re the eBay comment, you can spot them a mile away. They are the middle aged men that push my seven year old son out the way.

You might have a bit more luck after the game. I met a good few after the Valencia friendly last year. Jules is always happy to sign or have a chat, and Punch is a miserable w@nker

Probably not a viable option for you, but chucking it into the hat anyway...the airport is often a good place to pick up their autographs if (and it's a big if) you can ascertain when they are flying and whether they are going from Gatwick or Heathrow. Generally it'll be Gatwick the day before an away game. My mrs and her brother work on security at Gatwick and have both met the Palace players several times (her brother has had the p*ss taken out of him by Jason Puncheon!) and they seem generally quite chatty by all accounts. Some more than others, my brother in law said Zaha keeps himself to himself a bit, but Puncheon and Wickham are a bit more friendly (to name just a few examples). Don't approach Punch while he is eating his Nandos though obviously. Probably doesn't help you at all, but didn't think this info would hinder you either so adding it to the mix.

I appreciate that players cannot spend ages doing so but I'm sure supporters would recognise that after a time they have to go on their way rather than just ignoring them in the first place. Don't like all those darned headphones and walking straight past without even so much as a glance at those who idolise them.A wave or a smile doesn't take a lot does it ?
