I have always taken it as a free for all when coming to transfer dealings of a player from one club to another. In the past we have lost plenty of talent to our competitors either because we were strapped for cash and needed to sell or a player was tapped up and became unsettled and demanded a move.

Notable cases have been with Spurs and how they operate. They show an interest in player, just enough to get the players head turned and then before you know it we are in a place called a "tribunal".

Now i dislike Spurs with a passion and yesterdays interview with Pochettino about Chelsea and the manager Conte's interest in Harry Kane made my blood boil. The fact that Conte rates Kane and if he could sign him he would, you would think there wouldn't be an issue. But no, Pochettino goes on about the lack of respect shown by Chelsea and their manager.

This is on the back of Spurs tracking and tapping up Zaha for the past 18 months just highlights the hypocrisy that runs through football. Some things will never change i guess...

Agree Gary and it's amazing how you change when you have massive financial backing and break into the top 6!

Good topic for debate Gary, there are some managers out there who like to talk about about other players but aren't happy when people talk about their own.

On Bostock: As Palace fans some of us are still upset about John Bostock. Some blame Bostock, his advisors, Spurs and a combination of the three. It's the perfect example of why you shouldn't move on to a bigger club and one I'm sure that many have learned from. But I'm not sure how you can connect this to Pochettino given that he wasn't the Spurs Manager a decade ago?

On Pochettino: He is a decent and consistent manager. Sure Spurs have been heavily linked with Zaha for over a year now but he has never gone on record to talk about Zaha directly. The following is taken from the Daily Mail:

Asked directly about Zaha, the Spurs boss replied: 'I don't want to speak about a player in another club. I like good players and maybe he is a good player. But I don't like to start focusing on some names.'

On Conte: The following are direct quotes from Conte on Kane and Alli in the Telegraph.

“Tottenham is a really good squad if they are able to keep all the players of their squad,” said Conte. “For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world.

“If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. He’s a complete player. He’s one of the top strikers in the world.

“If you go to buy Kane now it would be at least £100m. At least. For me, if I see this price for a striker I know for sure he’s a big striker.

“Dele Alli is another top player, young. Tottenham is a really good team if they are able to keep the same squad as last season.”

Can you see the difference? Do you still hold the opinion you made in your opening post?

My opinion is based over a longer period regarding Spurs. So rewind to Peter Taylor, Chris Armstrong and more significantly Wayne Routeledge. Granted Pochettino has only been at the helm for a short period of time, but you don't believe that old bollocks about " i don't want to talk about a player from another club" do you?

I'm sure the Tottenham PR machine are working the media to get the stories out there but there have been no comments from him directly on Zaha. If there are comments out there then fair play I'll take it all back and support your post.

You normally hear this regarding a player linked to a club and the manager utters these words so as not to admit that they are after the player.

If a manager is asked about a player out of this context then why shouldn't he say what he thinks about the qualities of that player ? At the all of the day it is all about context and interpretation.

Spurs are just generally scummy. Always have been always will be. The way they came and kicked us all over Selhurst Park last season and got away with it and the three points as a result just proves, that as part of the old establishment they get preferential treatment from the powers that be, on top of them having buckets of cash and still acting like cretinous c*nts.

"We love you Palace, we f@cking hate Man U, We love you Palace, we hate the brighton too, We love you Palace we play in red 'n' blue, so f@ck you, and you ...

I used to like Tottenham as friends supported them but they are one of those clubs that think they are better than they are. They have also done the dirty on their local community over the stadium redevelopment, with both small businesses and social housing suffering badly. They have been supported in this by Haringey council, who have rolled over and given THFC millions of pounds of public money towards their stadium project.
